Are you looking for a good Longboard to perform ‘Tricks’ with?
We will help you find the ideal deck for tricks with the perfect trucks and wheels to match. However, Longboard ‘Tricks’ is a very broad term the first thing to establish is what kind of Tricks you want to perform.
Longboard tricks fall into three categories Freestyle, Freeride and Dancing. Cruising, Carving and Downhill are riding styles often incorporated into Freestyle, Freeride and Dancing.
Are you a Freestyler? Freerider? or Dancer?
Freestyle Tricks
Freestyle Longboarding is the discipline that involves the most tricks, from basic such as kickflips, shove-its and pivots to advanced tricks such as no-complys, aero flips and big spins.
Freestyling can be performed at Skate parks or in flatland urban areas, or on urban features. Freestyling is very fluid. You can practice your tricks in a specific place or cruise your local area performing stunts along the way.
Freestyling is adventurous and aggressive. It often appeals to younger Longboarders than old as the joints take a beating with all the jumping and landings.

Freeride Tricks
Freeriders ride hills at moderate to fast speeds (although not at maximal speeds as in downhill racing), regulating speed by turning and ‘sliding’ while taking corners by ‘drifting.’
Sliding and drifting is the staple of Freerider Longboarding and could be classed as Longboard tricks, although the decks don’t leave the ground as is the case with many freestyle tricks.
Freeriding is often combined with Freestyling. Cruise your city, use Freeride slides and drifts when riding hills and then execute Freestyle tricks while riding the flatland areas.

Dancing Tricks
Freestyle and Freeride are aggressive and exciting forms of Longboarding often explored when a novice has mastered carving and cruising.
Longboard Dancing is a mellow alternative, a creative and expressive form of Longboarding where the rider performs fluid steps and body movements while cruising along flatland. Dancing tricks include the cross-step, 180 steps, sidewinder and bop it.
The tricks are coordinated and executed in a visually impressive rhythm similar to a dance routine.
Don’t be fooled into thinking it’s easy. It takes discipline and patience to learn, just like all other forms of Longboarding. Dancing can be combined with Freestyle and even Freeride.
However, if Longboard Dancing appeals to you more than Freestyle or Freeride, click the button below to learn more and view some of the best Dancing Longboards.
